Meet our Trainers
Robin Wellington
Robin Wellington began riding at the age of 6. She grew up competing in jumping and dressage and for the past fifteen years has focused on her passion for dressage and working with Icelandic Horses. Robin has a Master's in Counseling Psychology and Wilderness Therapy and practices Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning. She enjoys helping riders find balance in their riding and harmony with their horses. Robin has wonderful school horses available for lessons and also welcomes students with their own horses.
Jane Misseri
Jane Misseri is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist. She is a certified instructor for dressage, jumping and ground training. She has had 33 years experience teaching riding and training horses through the grand prix level of dressage. Her motto is “dressage can be fun”. She believes that through fairness, patience, and with a huge repertoire of techniques to apply individually to each horse, she can help each horse and rider achieve their very best.
Sandi Owen
Sandi Owen has been riding, showing & working with horses for over 43 years. She spent her early years in Southern California working with & for various trainers & teaching lessons in the Hunter / Jumper discipline. She has been in Durango for the last 20 years. During that time, while pursuing her love for Hunter/ Jumpers; she has also dabbled in lower level Dressage & Combined Training. Sandi considers herself a life long student of horsemanship & enjoys helping people find a connection with their horse through compassion, understanding & respect. She loves working with children & sharing with them her passion for horses.
Youth Lesson
Robin specializes in working with children as young as five years of age through young adults. Children learn basic horse care, leading, grooming, and tacking up as well as correct equitation and balance that will provide an excellent foundation for any riding discipline they decide to pursue in the future. Robin creates an environment in which her young students' relationship with horses improves their self-esteem, confidence, and ability to develop authentic relationships.
